At South Sumter High School, we proudly offer a selection of Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the AP Capstone Diploma Program which are designed to challenge students and prepare them for college success. Our AP program allows students to engage in rigorous academic content, earn college credit, and enhance their college applications. With supportive teachers and a nurturing learning environment, we encourage students to foster critical thinking and analytical skills. Participating in AP courses deepens their understanding and provides valuable experience in managing college-level coursework.

  • The AP Program offers college-level courses and exams that you can take in high school.

  • You can earn college credits and placement. You can save money and time. Stand out with your highschool transcript. 

  • Students who score level 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research and four additional AP Course Exams of their choice receive the AP Capstone Diploma. Students who score level 3 or higher on both AP Seminar and AP Research but do not earn passing scores on four additional AP Exams receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
