South Sumter High

The SSHS Hi-Q Team, also known as Academic Challenge, is just like Jeopardy with teams! We have fun answering questions. For a Six week season in late January and February every school year, we travel to Leesburg High School and compete against other high schools. 

In late April every year, we get together with WMHS to form Team Sumter and travel to Orlando’s Universal Studios for the State Championship, also known as the Commissioner’s Academic Challenge. In 2025, Team Sumter was a State Semifinalist and SSHS brought home a new buzzer system.
